Going back to University
After taking a break from classes at the local University for the last 18 or so months (give or take a several months), I think I’m ready to start taking classes again. I don’t know if it would be this fall or the following Spring of 2010, though I would prefer this coming fall.
I basically know what I want to do but the question that I’m facing is: Should I continue with Photojournalism? Or should I go with another degree?
I’m thinking of going with concentration in the Journalism Department at UAF that’s called “New Media.” Though I would like to do both, but then I could be pushing my luck about doing to much at the same time. If I do both concentrations at the same time, basically would be doing two things that I like doing – taking photographs and working on websites.
Another thing I am thinking of doing is take some language course’s that the University is offering in the fall. But the problem is that if I do that I would be adding maybe 6 months of course work to what I’m already planning to take. From what I worked out, I would be taking at least 15 credits for the next 2 years and classes during the summer months – not that I mind doing that – I just don’t want to do to much at once and on a consistent basis for the next 2 to 2 1/2 years. Then trying to work on top of studying which may or may not be a good thing, but I’m not sure at this moment, just need to see how things would go.
Continuing my education is it stands now is hold indefinitely till things are sorted out in regards to family and a few other things too.
